Commenting on the appointment of a new Ministerial line-up, UKHospitality Executive Director for Scotland Willie Macleod said: “Congratulations to Kate and Fergus on their appointments. We now have two strong voices for tourism and hospitality in the Cabinet, which is crucial as the sector is a vital component of Scotland’s economic offering as well as a valuable part of tourism and culture.

“There was plenty for Scotland’s hospitality sector to be positive about in the Budget two weeks ago and we look forward to working with the Scottish Government to help deliver it. A close working relationship will be crucial if we are to help boost the industry, ensure an informed debate and outcome regarding tourist tax, and make sure that migration and improving skills cater adequately for hospitality’s needs.”
