The Government has confirmed that the new tipping legislation will come into force from 1 October. Legislation was passed in 2023 that ensures that 100% of tips and service charge are given to employees. Alongside this, there are new rules on how tips are paid and a code of practice governing how tips are distributed. There are additional responsibilities for business, including the need for a Tipping Policy and transparency rules.
These will all be discussed at our webinar on September 4th, informing businesses of the steps they need to take to be ready for this change.
