The Government has confirmed that the new tipping legislation will come into force from 1 October.

The Government has confirmed that the new tipping legislation will come into force from 1 October. Legislation was passed in 2023 that ensures that 100% of tips and service charge are given to employees. Alongside this, there are new rules on how tips are paid and a code of practice governing how tips are distributed. There are additional responsibilities for business, including the need for a Tipping Policy and transparency rules.
