Understanding the revised EHRC Code: Guidance on single-sex services and facilities

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has published a revised Code of Practice for services, public functions and associations following the Supreme Court’s judgment in For Women Scotland Ltd v The Scottish Ministers.

The revised Code includes updated guidance on the provision of single-sex services and facilities and explains how the Equality Act 2010 should be interpreted and applied following that judgment.

To support members, UKHospitality has developed practical guidance explaining the key changes and their relevance for hospitality businesses. It provides an overview of the revised Code, outlines the legal framework and highlights practical considerations for businesses reviewing their own policies, procedures and facilities.
