We attended the launch of Hospitality Connect's West London program.

The launch saw a huge turnout and eight schools successfully matched with a local hotel to mark the start of their joint educational journey. Hospitality provides many young people with their first job and now hopefully also a long-term career.

The programme aims to both improve awareness of the great careers within the industry to a young student audience as well as to tackle ongoing recruitment challenges in the sector.

8 West London schools were matched with 7 WLHMA members

  • The Athenaeum Hotel and Residences

  • M&C Hotel at Chelsea FC

  • Royal Lancaster London

  • Novotel Hammersmith

  • The Dixon, Tower Bridge

  •  Lost Property St Paul's, Curio Collection by Hilton

  • Dorsett Shepherds Bush

Our hotels and schools also heard from Daljit Bains from West London College.

Daljit spoke about the exciting pathways available and ways of working together so that young people are inspired to choose the Hospitality sector and understand the various pathways available.

The aim of Hospitality Connect is to introduce school students to the world of hospitality via a meaningful partnership with a local hotel or hospitality venue.  Activities are delivered under four themes including curriculum enhancement, parental / carer engagement, hotel-based events and school based careers events including teacher encounters.
