The Welsh Government has now published its long-awaited consultation on the Deposit Return Scheme, following its decision to pull out of efforts to align schemes across the UK.
This decision, the Welsh Government say, comes as a result of its already high recycling rates, and the need to design a scheme that moves beyond recycling and focuses on reuse. With the Welsh scheme also set to include glass, this marks a significant divergence to the rest of the UK.
