Booking.com ruling: how to claim – Q&A with the legal experts
August 20, 2025
We have joined an initiative led by our European trade body HOTREC, and a number of national associations, allowing hotels to participate in a collective action against Booking.com. Participation is free of costs and cost risks.
The deadline to join the claim has been extended to 29 August, and this has driven a surge in interest amongst UKHospitality members.
To get into the detail of what this all means, we brought together the legal experts leading the claim to answer your questions live, exclusively for UKHospitality members.
We were delighted to be joined by Dr. Volker Soyez of SGP Schneider Geiwitz & Partner (the firm that has successfully represented hotels and hotel associations before the European Court of Justice as well as national courts and competition authorities), and Dr. Till Schreiber of CDC Cartel Damage Claims, the European pioneer and leader in collective claims enforcement in the field of competition law. We hope to be joined by a senior HOTREC executive committee member also.
The team answered questions already posed by UKHospitality members on the details of the case and took live queries on the webinar itself.
If you have joined the claim already, or considering doing so, this session provides further detail of the current situation and next steps.
