Open fire safety and evacuation procedures

The Fatal Accident Inquiry into the deaths of Simon Midgley and Richard Dyson, following a building fire at Cameron House Hotel on 18 December 2017, made three recommendations specifically for accommodation providers.

UKHospitality Scotland was part of the Scottish Government’s Short Life Working Group (SLWG), tasked with taking the recommendations forward and we are now sharing a series of advice sheets and background notes to help avoid similar tragic events in the future.
