Our food safety partner Food Alert recently held another meeting of its Technical Advisory Board (TAB) to discuss some pivotal challenges and issues in the food industry. The TAB brings together food safety experts to address critical topics facing our industry such as food hypersensitivities, food fraud, high fat salt sugar (HFSS) foods, listeria, pest control, and deforestation.
During the discussion the board highlighted the growing concern over food hypersensitivities, emphasising the need for stringent labelling and allergen management protocols to protect consumers and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. They also identified listeria prevention and control as top priorities, with discussions centred around improving detection methods, implementing rigorous hygiene practices and improving traceability systems to mitigate risks.
