VisitEngland has launched an Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Toolkit for businesses – a comprehensive resource that can help businesses understand and address the barriers faced by customers with different impairments.

The toolkit is designed to help promote accessibility information and help businesses become an inclusive employer.

Our Chief Executive Kate Nicholls, who is also a Disability Access Ambassador, attended the launch alongside fellow ambassadors and government ministers. The launch helped drive and promote accessibility across the visitor economy.

Make your business more accessible.

A new Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Toolkit for Businesses is now available on VisitEngland’s Business Advice Hub.

As members of the Inclusivity and Accessibility Working Group of the Tourism Industry Council, VisitEngland plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the work led by the group.

Chaired by Kate Nicholls, the group represents a partnership between industry and government, working to deliver the related objectives set out in the Tourism Recovery Plan, with the objective of ensuring that the tourism industry is able to provide an inclusive and accessible offer that is open to all.

This ambition is shared by UKHospitality’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) group, established in 2022, pursuing its mission of venues, jobs and communities that serve everyone without barriers or prejudice.

The group is currently delivering against its 12-month workplan and will be shortly launching a one-stop shop for all guidance and resources to support businesses in our industry across the EDI agenda.
